Friends, we need your help. We need to find a new foster for Indiana Bones (Indy). This beautiful boy was surrendered to us because he bit a child. It turns out that has severe resource guarding (over food), and his current foster has been trying to work with him with a trainer. Unfortunately, due to her own life circumstances she is has been unable to focus on his training, and is also no longer able to foster him. Indy has bitten her when guarding his food, and she did need medical attention. He does not get along with other dogs. He is otherwise a loving and sweet boy, and loves his foster mom. We are looking for a foster who would be willing to work with him, with a trainer (at our expense). You must have no other pets, and no children. Fenced yard is not required. People with herding dog experience and/or working with resource guarding preferred, but not necessary. Please share. Thank you.
This is the Facebook post from the Southeast Corgi Rescue about Indiana Bones. I had contacted the rescue on May 23 to let them know we were willing to act as fosters for them. On June 17 I got a message asking if we were still willing to foster, and of course the answer was YES. Phone calls ere made, a home visit was conducted, a vet was arranged, and on June 30 I drove to St. George, SC and picked Indiana up from his then foster mom, Linda.
I’ve started this blog as an easy way to track and share Indy’s progress and photos of this handsome fella.
